Whaleboxes Gallery

In January 2012, I had to replace my mailbox, which is one of those that sits on a pole out at the curb. This gave me the chance to do something I've always wanted to do, namely to paint whales and dolphins on my mailbox.  After seeing the one I did for myself, several people have been asking me to do more painted mailboxes for them. I finally got around to doing a new one, which was donated to a fundraising event in Florida in February 2013, to raise money for Ric O"Barry's "The Dolphin Project". I am taking orders for more of my hand-painted custom "Whaleboxes"; if you're interested, please write to me via my "Contact" page. In 2015, I moved away from Austin, TX, to Lampasas, TX, and once again I had the chance to paint a new mailbox for myself to go out by the curb. This time I used a much larger, black mailbox, which gave me the chance to do something against a black background, which helped the whales to really stand out as a pure image. The final result is shown in this gallery.
